Archers for building openings

Our archers address the architectonic and technical requirements for building openings in the design of bricks used to erect the facade. Archers are custom-made for every site to the statics calculations by authorized persons. Tolerances are given in millimetres. Archers are completed with certified stainless-steel elements. Our archers save the site time considerably.

 Archer laid on anchors
This archer type is supplied to sites prefabricated in spans up to 4 m. It is produced from facing bricks cut first to form an “L” shape and then laid into a mould of required length. The L-shaped pieced must be fixed in the formwork adequately against shifting. Joints are filled with packing to prevent concrete from penetrating to the facing side of the bricks. Reinforcement is installed in the mould as specified in the statics drawings and FSW-type hanging angle section with bracing is attached to the reinforcement. Concrete is poured into the mould and compacted. The archers are hung by the FSW anchor in the brickwork laying joint. Archers should be supported over the span at at least 80 cm intervals until the mortar in the courses above the archer sets adequately.

 Archer laid on wall
This archer is produced similarly to the anchored one, except that it is extended in length on both sides by two bricks for laying the archer on the facing wall. No FSW anchors are mounted. Archers should be supported over the span at at least 80 cm intervals until the mortar in the courses above the archer sets adequately. HK 4S bracket-type anchors are used to hang longer and more loaded archers No. 1 and 2. The numbers and types of these anchors are determined according to the particular application on site and actual archer loading.

 Continuous archer
a) Fixed b) Suspended

Continuously fixed archers are completed on site using HW angle sections and hanging HK 4 F angle sections. When a suspended continuous archer is installed, atypical suspensions for hanging facing bricks under HW or HK 4 F angle sections should be used. The lower, face side of the fixed archer is formed by an exposed stainless-steel angle section, while the one of the suspended archer consists of moulded bricks.

 Bevelled archer
This archer is laid in a wedge formed by a cut in the face wall. This cut is made to the particular archer supplied to the site to ensure that the cutting and archer angles are identical. This archer must be supported during assembly until the mortar sets adequately. It is produced similarly to archers No. 1 and 2.

 Note:
Archers are supplied custom-made to individual orders and strength-calculated by authorized persons. Statics calculations can be supplied with every archer.

 Attention!
Make sure that archers hung on walls must be supported until the structure above sets sufficiently!
